Oak House Sign with Post – a beautifully carved thick oak house sign mounted onto a single oak post. Our oak house signs are made from premium grade, kiln dried oak – so you can expect only the highest quality of oak to be used to make your oak house sign. The mounted oak sign can have your house name, number and/or street name carved deep into the surface of oak sign. You then have the choice to have your lettering left plain to leave a more subtle, natural look; or you can have your house name or number hand painted in a colour of your choice. The post for your oak house sign, is made from premium grade oak. Our oak posts measure 75mm x 75mm, making our oak posts one of the thickest and most durable around. Going for a thinner post of lets say around 40mm x 40mm would mean there is a higher chance of the oak post bending and warping as it weathers. – we’d rather not take the chance – after all – a beautifully crafted, carved oak house sign deserves a beautiful post too, right? Our oak posts are planned and sanded all round to leave a smooth and tactile finish. How long is the oak post for your oak house sign? Well, we know everyone’s needs are different which is why we offer our oak posts in various sizes – for those who want their sign just above ground height and for those who want it eye-height for those in a car – we have a few options that you can choose from. Don’t worry, we can also create custom sizes upon request too – just get in touch! We offer our oak signs in various sizes and thicknesses – our standard thickness is 22mm, we then also offer an upgrade to have a 38mm thick house sign – which as you can see from the ‘primrose cottage’ and ‘holly cottage’ examples – really does add that wow factor! All of our oak signs are planned and sanded to leave smooth and tactile finishes (as you’d expect!). Once your oak sign has been ‘V-Carved’ and painted (if requested) – we then treat your oak sign in several coats of Oak treatment oil to help protect your sign against the elements outside. Overtime, it is natural for oak to ‘silver’ – this is part of the natural aging process. To stop this happening and to keep your sign looking ‘new’ – you can simply remove keep your sign protected by adding new coats of oak treatment oil to your sign.
