The “Wormkeeper” with large Dendrobaena

The “Wormkeeper” has been designed to enable the angler to keep their Dendrobaena bait worms fresh and healthy without having to worry about the right container or suitable bedding material. It comes as a complete package – container, Dendrobaena and bedding. On arrival, simply spread a small cupful of cooked, unsalted mashed potato onto the surface and lightly water. Anglers usually remove worms quicker than they will breed, so at some point the worms will need to be topped up. Wormkeepers are just that, they are designed for the angler to keep the worm bait fresh for several weeks dependant on how it is used, it is not a wormery ie. it is not designed to compost kitchen waste, breed worms or produce worm casts. If the worms are used for fishing the stock will inevitably diminish and the bedding deteriorate as the worms will also feed on this at this point the wormkeeper will need replacing or restocked with fresh worms and importantly, fresh bedding.
