Late 18th Century Chinese Jade Belt Buckle Hook

An elegant Chinese jade belt hook, finely carved from a pale celadon-green jade stone. The piece features a stylized dragon (chilong) sinuously coiled along the length of the hook, its body rendered in high relief with flowing curves and cloud-like motifs. The dragon’s head faces forward with a poised, alert expression, typical of Qing dynasty interpretations of auspicious beasts. The surface shows a soft polish with slight translucency, revealing natural inclusions characteristic of authentic nephrite jade. The underside is smooth, designed for attachment to a belt fitting.
