Late nineteenth century tortoiseshell purse. This charming tortoiseshell purse was made in France at the end of the nineteenth century. Its exterior is decorated with gold pique work, inlaying the gold into the tortoiseshell. The interior houses its original silk lining, which includes a secure pocket for gold coins.
